Church Partners

What is a Church Partner?

Chord church partners are congregations that have committed to working together over several years to develop holistic biblical leadership cultures rooted in spirituality and giftedness that nurture and mature faith communities towards fullness in Christ in both current and next generation collaborative contexts.

What is the benefit of being a church partner?

Chord is committed to walk with its partners to address all aspects of church life and culture. We have built teaching programs for partners, done extensive assessments, and have met with leadership teams and boards. We work together to craft vision and direction based on the needs and resources of each church. Our approach with our partners involves three phases: assessment, re-imagination, and implementation.

Who is this open to?

Chord welcomes any church to inquire about partnering. We are particularly drawn to congregations that share our vision of holistic biblical leadership culture and desire to prioritize spirituality and giftedness.

PENDING INFO: Testimonies from current church partners

Dr. Dave Pocta spent the first 26 years of his career in full-time ministry with his wife Beth in Minneapolis, Chicago, Johannesburg, and San Antonio, serving as an evangelist and teacher. At that time, they were mostly known for their work in Youth & Family ministry and their GROUNDED materials. In 2017, Dave changed lanes to pursue a PhD in Christian Spirituality full-time which he finished in 2022. His work now blends his ministry experience with spirituality scholarship.

Dave serves as the director of leadership development for Chord. He works with church partners to train leaders and nurture holistic church culture, mentors Chord scholars, and produces the Thread podcast. Dave is also the director of the Institute for the Study of Contemporary Spirituality in San Antonio, an academic center that networks with scholars around the world who work in the field of Christian spirituality.

Dave is a collaborator and builder. He publishes academically through journal articles, edited volumes, and monographs. He enjoys creating space for honest dialogue and authentic learning. He lives with his wife of more than thirty years in San Antonio and enjoys many different hobbies. You will have to ask him what his latest passion entails...at the time of this writing, it was sourdough baking.
